Fashion Week is moving from its famous perch in Bryant Park to what appears to be literally an ivory tower in Lincoln Center next season.  I can’t figure out if this will mean longer or shorter commutes from the Upper East Side, but I’m leaning towards a cab-only strategy.

This image has just been released, featuring a virtual scene with a notable red carpet entrance.  The old front entrance to Bryant Park was the steps that made you feel so important as you dashed up them, the onlookers–relegated to the sides of the rails–starring on.

Lincoln Center just seems all wrong for Fashion Week–I knew the ins and outs of the tents at Bryant Park: the celebrity backstage entrance, the crew entrances for the shows, the VIP lounges all in stone’s throw proximity to each other so that you can leave the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge and catch a glimpse of Heidi Klum being escorted out of the W Lounge to a flurry of paparazzi flashes.

We’ll just have to wait and see what Lincoln Park is like.  It’ll be like the first day at a new school, where everything seems novel and slightly scary.

So Begins The Deluge

These were waiting for me at the office today.  I am actually starting to get a little excited.  This, of course, will turn into horror and fatigue by the end of Day 2.  It’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it.
