DSC_0227Whether you’re looking at this picture and admiring the stunning physique of Jaslene Gonzalez or your eyes went straight to analyzing her outfit, there’s something in this for everyone.  The other night Dana Maxx debuted two seasons worth of collections at the eco-club hotspot Greenhouse in New York.

The clothes were feminine and sexy, featuring sharply cut silhouettes in silk fabrics that were flirty and irreverent.  Bold floral prints with bright pops of color rounded out the Spring collection while Fall was characterized by a darker palette with zipper and bow accents, both carry-over trends from last season.  Dana was perhaps most successful in her vision when she pushed herself beyond the simply-cut dresses at which she excels and created garments that were sophisticated while still maintaining her trademark downtown cool.

High-waisted pencil skirts that were almost staid enough for any office were made fun and interesting with strategically placed hints of vibrant color, such as with skinny lines of neon red on the waist.  A black top with a fitted bustier had sheer sleeves that played somewhere between secretary and vixen.  It was this dichotomy that made the collection so enthralling (it also didn’t hurt that there was an open bar) to watch as it came down the runway–the thrill of the unexpected kept the guests entertained–a theme continued throughout the evening when Alexandra Alexis took the stage for a surprise performance of her new single.
