Valentino is definitely no longer the Valentino of “The Last Emperor.”  The house has been moving away from its proper, elegant image–first with its Avatar-inspired, futuristic haute couture show and now…this.  Cole Mohr and Valentino are not a pair that I’d have imagined, sort of like David Gest and any woman on the planet.

You might recall Cole Mohr as the model in the Marc Jacobs ads wearing a dress a couple years ago.  Now, he’s starring in the Spring 2010 Valentino men’s ad campaign and definitely giving the brand a different attitude–sort of one that says “Where my heroin at?” as opposed to “Jeeves, dahling, when will my leer jet be arriving?”

What do you think?  Degradation or delightful?

PS. ARE THOSE CARGO PANTS?!

  1. I totally agree, I like Cole Mohr and understand his edge but I would never put two and two together. I’m quite sadden by the new direction of Valentino, and I’m sure he himself must think the same thing.
