What does Winter evoke for you? The heavy woodsy scent of those last flickering orange embers in a fireplace? The clean icy frost of snow? For me, winter tends to adopt the olfactory memory of whatever cologne I’m wearing at the time. Last winter will inexorably be linked to the musky Gucci Pour Homme that I wore. The one before that will always contain notes of Kenneth Cole Signature.
This winter, I’ve fallen in love with three different fragrances that I hope to alternate between. I am a bit of a bourgeoning fragrance fanatic and I currently have at least ten different ones in my medicine cabinet. Ever since reading Tom Robbins’ Jitterbug Perfume, I’ve been seduced and infatuated with the ethereal world of scent.
The first is Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir. The scent is wonderfully rich and fragrant without being overpowering or overly musky. I wore this while in Mexico and became obsessed with the dark yet sweet smell. This delicious scent also comes in a body wash and candle. (100mL, $100)
The second is the Terre d’Hermès, which has already been around for quite a while. I smelled this on a friend in Los Angeles and suspected that the rich, heavy scent had to be Hermès so when I was in a Sephora, I immediately confirmed my suspicions. The Terre d’Hermès is definitely a bold scent but it’s also incredibly intoxicating. (2.5 fl. oz, $112)
The last is the Comme des Garçons Palisander. I’ve been wearing this one for a few months already since it was given to me as a gift by its creator, Yann Vasnier. Peppery and delicious, I receive compliments every time I wear it. (100mL, $102)

Adrien, I am sooo jealous, you receive free bottle of cologne by the creator. Okay, if there are any Winter Fragrances samples, you don’t want. I’ll be more than happy to try them out. Just email me. Sniff Sniff.
