I was shocked–truly shocked–when I clicked through Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed List for 2009, pouring through each person and lo and behold I was not on the list! This is certainly one of the few times Adrien Field is not on the list.
I suppose what hurts the most is the fact that this schlub (sorry, nothing personal) on the left is on the list and moi, who is infinitely more fabulous if not also fashionable was not included. Quelle horreur!
But seriously: orange sneakers with a rumpled blue suit? I’m almost offended (and with 600 thumbs down and only 89 up as of 2AM, I think I’m in the majority).
As for the rest, I agree on Daniel Craig and Brad Pitt; both rather conventional but still very well kept. Lapo Elkann I guess is a default on any style list, but I am rather bored with him. The only one with any flair is COUNT MANFREDI DELLA GHERARDESCA (I had to copy and paste that name as there was no way I was going to transcribe it).
As for the women, it’s always hard to judge as they’re obviously leaving out some icons and playing to certain favorites. Vanity Fair seems to judge more on persona and public perception rather than any demonstrated concrete style sense.
